In the past few years the program has addressed children under the age of 15 and adults who have not completed grade six. CODE's program in the years to comeis more or less similar. However, the purpose of the program will focus on quality and sustainability.

Code-Ethiopia will continue to:

• Establishment of school/communty libraries.
• Development and printing of books.
• Provision of supplies and furniture.
• Purchase of locally published books.
• Distribution of donated books.
• Training and sensitization programs.
• Reading promotion.

Currently CODE-Ethiopia is engaged in a new task. This is "The Burt Award for African Literatures" -supporting and encouraging a love of reading for young adult. CODE-Ethiopia in cooperation with CODE-Canada has invited all potential Ethiopian writers to compete in the writing competition.
